Tsikalakis Georgios

Dr. Georgios J. Tsikalakis, is a Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) in the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics Sciences (Nutrition Politics and Ethics). He got B.A. in Theology from the Higher Ecclesiastical School of Crete and Degree in Theology from the department of Theology of the Aristotle University of Thesaloniki (AUTh). He retrained in Byzantine, post-Byzantine and traditional Music at the Department of Music Science and Art of the University of Macedonia and collaborated with the department in Interegg and EPEAEK programs. He was member of the Byzantine University Choir of Thessaloniki (1997-1999). He took Master in History from the Department of Theology of the AUTH and M.A. in International Politics from the Department of Political, Social and Economic Sciences of ULB (Belgium). He did his PhD in the department of Theology of the AUTH in international relations history (Greek-Turkish relations). He served the Greek Army as a Probationer Ranker Artillery Officer. He has worked as: i) business consulter for national and European funding, ii) Assistant in the office of MEP E. Mastorakis at the European Parliament in Brussels (European Socialist Party), iii) professor of Orthodox religious in Greece and Belgium for 15 years, iv) teacher in the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics of the TEI of Crete, v) teacher at the Police Academy, Sitia’s department. From 2017, he is teaching at the TEI of Crete (now the Hellenic Mediterranean University). He has given lectures at universities abroad on Cretan Olive Oil production and Commerce (Tunisia-Algeria-Netherlands). He participates in European projects, he is a member of the Hellenic Society of International Law and International Relations. He speaks English-French while he knows Turkish and Dutch. He specializes in issues of sustainable development and water management, while part of his scientific activity is in goal 12 of sustainable development (Responsible food production and consumption). He is married with Dr. Neofotistou Eleftheria and he is father of two children.

Neofotistou Eleftheria

Dr. Neofotistou Eleftheria is a Laboratory Teaching Staff (EDIP) of General and Inorganic Chemistry in the Department of Nutrition & Dietetics Sciences of the Hellenic Mediterranean University. She obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry (2002), then she received a master degree MSc (2005) and a phD (2009) on inorganic chemistry from the Department of Chemistry of the University of Crete. Her research interests are focused on food analysis (eg water, oil, honey).
